Animal Welfare Training and Education

OLAW endeavors to provide relevant training and educational opportunities in animal care use, animal welfare, and compliance with the PHS policy. These may include prerecorded offerings, live webinars, and other events.

OLAW’s webinars and podcasts are designed to help institutional Animal Care and Use Committees (IACUCs) and Institutional Officials (IOs) explore their responsibilities in the oversight of PHS-funded research that involves the use of live vertebrate animals. These materials are tailored to IACUC staff, IACUC members, IOs, veterinarians, compliance personnel, animal care staff, and others involved in animal programs at PHS-Assured institutions. Participants are encouraged to send suggestions for future topics to [email protected].

Please note that OLAW is unable to offer CE credit for webinars at this time. Attendees are encouraged to check with their individual licensing boards or accrediting associations for information about continuing education credit. Although the content of any OLAW sessions are directed to those involved in the care, use, and regulation of animals in research, registration is available to all interested members of the public. Therefore, please exercise discretion when sharing sensitive content and material, as confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
