The National Academies Institute for Laboratory Animal Research (ILAR) has established the Roundtable on Science and Welfare in Laboratory Animal Use to foster communication among the many constituencies with strong interests in the use of laboratory animals in research. The Roundtable will provide a forum to explore topics such as animal transport, animal models, data sharing, performance standards, regulatory complexities, and IACUC responsibilities.
The first workshop, being held on June 4-5, 2014 in Washington DC, will discuss reproducibility issues in research with animals and animal models. Register here to join in person or by webcast. The second workshop, to be held September 3-4, 2014, will examine issues relating to transportation of laboratory animals.
