Learn How Much You Could Receive for a Loan Repayment Award

Planning to apply for an Extramural Loan Repayment Programs (LRP) Award? NIH has relaunched the LRP Award Calculator, a quick and easy tool that provides an estimate of your potential LRP award amount. Simply enter your total qualifying educational loan debt and your annual income to see what you may be eligible to receive. 

The NIH Extramural LRP helps to recruit and retain highly qualified biomedical and behavioral researchers by repaying up to $100,000 in qualified educational loan repayment in exchange for a two-year research commitment. By reducing educational debt burden, the LRP allows early-career investigators to focus more fully on research careers that advance human health.
