Part 2. Full Text of Announcement

Section I. Funding Opportunity Description and Section IV. Application and Submission Information

In order to harmonize content in these sections, the application should include OH Indictors/OHI (required), plus up to 4 subprojects or PFAs will be allowed.

The following content is to augment and clarify Part 2, Section IV., Number 5: Funding Restrictions. For all three types of program proposals, all HHS/CDC awards are subject to the terms and conditions, cost principles, and other requirements described in the HHS Grants Policy Statement. Pre-award costs may be allowable as an expanded authority, but only if authorized by CDC. CDC NIOSH has designated an application for this FOA as public health research; therefore, the funding agency requires review the approval of the application, in writing, and submitted to NIOSH, by an appropriate IRB for 45 CFR Part 46 and for HHS Office of Health Research Protections compliance. A funding restriction for human subject research protections compliance (45 CRF Part 46) may be imposed until the following conditions are met for relevant performance sites: (1) an OHRP-issued assurance, and (2) initial and continuing approval of the nonexempt research by an appropriately constituted and registered (domestic) institutional review board.
