DELAYS IN GRANT APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS

National Institutes of Health 

Some institutions have closed operations for a significant time due to 
the recent winter storms.  The NIH realizes that this may cause 
problems for investigators who are planning on submitting grant 
applications for the AREA program for January 25 or other grant 
applications for February 1.  Applications that are submitted late 
because of the recent storms should include a cover letter noting the 
reasons for the delay.  It is not necessary to get permission in 
advance for weather-related delays in grant application submission.
