National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases

The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases 
(NIAMS), National Institutes of Health, is seeking an organization to develop 
a  laboratory using the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Good Manufacturing 
Practices (GMP)/Current Good Tissue Practice (CGTP) for the production of NIH 
3T3 cells used as feeder cell layers for keratinocyte cultures for cutaneous 
gene therapy applications.  The contractor will be required to: 1) develop 
cell culture techniques for NIH 3T3 cells, 2) establish and operate a 
facility required for the development and production of the NIH 3T3 cells 
within 12 months of contract award, and 3) produce and package for delivery to 
recipients the NIH 3T3 cells.  The activity will require managerial resources 
for the preparation and distribution of the NIH 3T3 cells.

It is anticipated that one cost reimbursement contract award will be made for 
a period of five years beginning on or about September 30, 2001.  The 
solicitation NIH-NIAMS-01-06 will be available electronically on or about 
fifteen days from the date of this notice and may be accessed through the

or about May 22, 2001. Offerors are responsible for downloading their own
