The conference will be held at the NIH Natcher Conference Center (Building 45) in the main Auditorium, located on the lower level. Informal discussion groups and one-on-one sessions with agency personnel will be held in additional breakout rooms.
Getting to the Natcher Building
Visitor Parking is extremely difficult to find at NIH, if at all possible, take public transportation. There is a Metro station on the NIH campus with shuttle bus service or you may take a 5-minute walk to Natcher from the Medical Center station on the Red Line. If you take the shuttle, be sure to board the NIH Campus shuttle as there are various shuttles that go to off-site NIH locations. The Natcher Building is located on Center Drive directly behind the Medical Center Stop.
All visitors must enter through the NIH Gateway Center for an identification check, security screening, and baggage inspection. NOTE: New security measures have been put in place on the NIH campus, affecting both staff and visitors. Public Transportation
The easiest way to access the NIH Campus is to take the Washington D.C. Metro-Rail system. The red line has a station right on the NIH campus, called "Medical Center." Once you're out of the station, it's a short walk to the NIH campus shuttle stops, which will take you to buildings on campus. Be sure to board the NIH Campus shuttle as there are various shuttles that go to off-site NIH locations. Some of the hotels mentioned below also offer complimentary shuttle services.
Driving to NIH
When driving to NIH, plan some extra time to get through the security checkpoints at the visitor entrances to campus. Be aware that visitor parking lots on the NIH campus can fill up quickly and some are metered, requiring copious change! Consider taking public transportation as an alternative.
Nearby Accommodations
Limited blocks of rooms at area hotels convenient to the Conference location have been reserved. Special group rates are offered to participants based on block availability. All hotels are within 3-5 miles of the NIH campus. A complimentary shuttle service and internet access is available from the majority of the hotels listed below.
Room reservations are to be made by individual attendees directly by calling the hotel of your choice. To receive the group rate, please indicate your participation in the "NIH SBIR/STTR Conference".
